Mountain clubs in the Wellington region put a quiz night to raise funds for two volunteer groups. The evening was great success and well organized by the VUWTC, WT&MC, TTC and NZAC.
Awsome to see the support for the GWBN and Aotearoa Climbing Access Trust.
Great evening with approximately 200 people from VUWTC, NZAC, WTMC, TTC and HVTC participants raising about $7,000 for GWBN and ACAT. Credit to VUWTC for leading the organising, with contributions from WTMC and NZAC. Prizes were generously donanted by many sponsors including Coffee Outdoors and Bivoauc.
The most knowlegable team on the night was the Victoria University Tramping Club VUWTC team. The GWBN team tried hard but went home empty handed. Next year, maybe.
Thanks to all for the support, any funding GWBN receive will get more tracks in our forest parks restored.
