A GWBN team of 5, John Duggan, Liz Nicholson, Jeremy Collyns Rob Stone and Alistair Barr spent 5 days in the valley, cutting most of the tracks.

The team completed 27 kms of tracks, including the valley track from Smiths Creek to Cone hut, Mt Cone to Cone Saddle, Bull Mound, Cone Saddle to Lower Waiohine at Makaka ck, and also Cone saddle to Waiohine roadend. (Photo John Duggan dealing with a windfall)

Bill Rainey of Cold Air Helicopters dropped to team on Bull Mound and Cone, to help reduce time. And climbing.

Massive effort by the team, with some long days to get all the scheduled tracks done in 5 days.

Huts used were Tutuwai and Cone. Tutuwai got a good cleanup by jeremy on the scrub bar. 200 litres drum of rubbish got flown out from Cone hut, when Bill took the gear, packs equipment out. The team Cleaned out the woodshed and stocked it with firewood. The hut axe was broken and brought out.
