North Mangahao Bivouac is a Basic “dog box” type hut located in a remote area of the Northern Tararua range. Built originally by the Bush Branch of the NZDA in 1964, the hut is now manage by Colin Leigh who has a management agreement with DOC for the uppkeep of the vivouac. Access is from the eastern side of the range.
